‘Merton Vale Pink’ is a new release for 2020! A North American Hybrid Lilium of superb grace and beauty.
‘Merton Vale Pink’ is a pendant Lilium with bold, cyclamen pink flowers, with white to cream centres and burgundy spots. Flowers at the start of the new year in North West Tasmania. At 1.2 mt. tall with 12-15 flowers this is a very striking Lily indeed.
Limited to only 1 per customer at this time. The good news is they multiply readily.
This is a new hybrid made by Henry Foster at Merton Vale in central Tasmania, and named, registered & introduced by Neil Jordan & is a Cam Lilies exclusive. Henry is a lifelong student of the genus Lilium and grows some amazing plants. Another great example of what a dedicated backyard enthusiast can achieve.
North American Hybrid Liliums are quite easy to grow and are generally quite hardy once established. They prefer a mildly acid soil with good drainage. Plenty of organic matter and a good mulch to retain moisture and provide protection from harsh summer sun. They are quite at home with full sun or part shade. Their long, graceful, somewhat willowy stems and brilliant pendant flowers make them a most graceful Lily, guaranteed to make an impact in any garden.
North American Hybrid Liliums are virtually unknown at a commercial level in Australia. Given their incredible grace and beauty we really need to see more of these amazing Lilies in Australian gardens. We need to see a lot more of these Lilies in Australian gardens.
