Description
‘Luina’ is a beautiful pendant Asiatic Hybrid Lilium from the Tas Townships Group.
It has beautiful, recurved, creamy flowers with a mauve-pink band, with fine chocolate pencil marks & spots. Compact stems of 10+ flowers to 90 cm. with well-spaced pedicels.
‘Luina’ is a Tasmanian Aboriginal word for the Blue Wren, and was also applied to a mining town on the Whyte River between Waratah & Savage River.

Bred, & introduced by Neil Jordan, the Tas Township Group are exclusive to Cam Lilies.
‘Luina’ is one of the excellent Tas Townships Group. Although I did sell a few of these many years ago, it has only just been restored to our range via tissue culture. Other Lilies from the Tas Townships Group offered this year include ‘Parrawe’, ‘Penghana’, ‘Remine’, ‘Rinadeena’, ‘Teepookana’, and ‘Trowutta’.
Asiatic Hybrid Liliums are one of the easiest Lilies to grow and are generally quite hardy. They prefer a moderately acid soil with good drainage. Plenty of organic matter and a good mulch to retain moisture and provide protection from harsh summer sun. This group generally has no perfume.
Like all Liliums these are deciduous. Consequently, they will die back after flowering and re-emerge in spring, completely refreshed. This means that any damage from the past year is past history. Remove old stems when all the green colour has gone. This allows the energy of each plant to be drawn down into the bulb ready for next season.
