Lilium speciosum var gloriosoides – Taiwan form is one of the most sought after Liliums of our time. A vigorous form with many flowers, it is a true rarity in cultivation. Flowers are white with intense purple-red spots and brown pollen. Grows to more than 1 mt. with up to 15 fragrant, flowers in March. It bears its flowers when other Lilies have gone.

Strictly 1 only per customer.

This lily has long tantalised Lily enthusiasts around the globe. The late, great American breeder, Leslie Woodriff first tried his hand with this Lily in the late 1940s. He and many others (myself included), have tried without success to make crosses on a range of prospective targets.

I started this Lily in tissue culture a decade back and have been playing with it for some years. Last year was the first year with decent stems. The one pictured had 12 flowers. We enjoyed several over the March period. Lilium speciosum var gloriosoides – Taiwan form is a Cam Lilies exclusive.

Lilium speciosum var gloriosoides – Taiwan form  hails from Taiwan. It is generally considered one of the most beautiful Lilies and also boasts a lovely perfume. A very special Lily.

Usually one of the earliest Lilies to emerge from the ground in spring, and one of the last to flower.

Like most Lilies, it needs good deep drainage and a moderately acid soil. It appreciates plenty of organic matter which assists, not only with drainage, but with oxygen and nutrient availability. Plant deeply at 200 mm., depending on the size of your bulb.
