‘Lankon’ is a bold, LA Hybrid Lilium. A most reliable, vigorous grower with very long pedicels reaching 1 mt. tall.
To clarify, ‘Lankon’ is a Longiflorum/Asiatic (LA) Hybrid garden lily. It was bred in the Netherlands from a Longiflorum Hybrid crossed with Lilium lankongense.
These hybrid Liliums are generally quite similar to Asiatics. They are quite easy to grow and quite hardy. Consequently, they offer great colour and style with minimum effort. For another LA Hybrid Lilium see ‘Bold Burgundy‘.
Moderately acid soil with good drainage is their main need. Organic matter and a good mulch will retain moisture and provide protection from harsh summer sun.
