‘Cam Alpha’ is an excellent, white Oriental Lilium Hybrid with lemon bands and rose spots. Flowers become lightly infused with pink as they age.
Expect mature stems to have 20 strongly perfumed flowers on sturdy stems to 1.2 metres. Attractive, glossy-green leaves add to the spectacle. Best planted in a slightly elevated position allowing you to receive the full advantage of beautiful pendant flowers.
Flowers are down-facing, so are better equipped to survive inclement weather, and consequently a great performer in summer gardens. Most importantly, secondary buds on mature stems just keep on opening, so flowering continues for 3-4 weeks. Strongly perfumed, vigorous, easily-grown and most attractive, these great garden lilies will reward you.
‘Cam Alpha’ Awards Include:
Champion Stem – 2016 Latrobe Lilium Show
Best Hybrid Lilium Bred by the Exhibitor – 2010 Devonport Lilium Show
Widely acclaimed by growers across Australia as an amazing new introduction.
To get the best from Oriental Hybrid Liliums, plant around 150 mm deep in acid soils (pH 5.5 to 6.5) with good drainage. A good mulch will help keep your root system cool through the heat of summer and retain moisture, consequently extending the life of your bulbs. Full sun to half shade.
Bred from Japanese species lilies and showing strong influences from Lilium auratum, the famous Golden Ray Lily, ‘Cam Alpha’ will soon become a favourite in your garden.
